TED TALKS
For the research component of your assignment, review the "Research" page on this site. Use your "cheat sheet" to remind you of the steps and passwords (if working from home).
For presentation skills, the links I showed you are below:
Creating a Slideshow
Powerpoint - I highly recommend you log in at me.sd42.ca (using Chrome if possible) to access your district account.
Username: Your Student Number (when you click on password, the site will add @mrpm.sd42.ca to your student number.)
Password: Your district password (This might be your birthday and initials like 2008.08.29.ab or it might have been changed to something else.) We can reset this for you, if needed.
If you don't wish to use the district server, Google Slides is great. The only downside is we can't reset your password for you if you forget it.
Canva also has a slideshow program with built in images; just be sure to use free ones! Again, we can't reset your password for you if you choose this program.
Using Images
Remember, you shouldn't take information or images without credit! Always ensure that the creator of the image has given permission for it to be used. Include their name and a link to the image in your document.
Flickr Creative Commons - Search for images related to your topic. You can choose "non commercial" images for a school project as you won't be making money off of it. You must share the information to credit the artist and provide a link to the source.
If you choose to use Canva, it will have images but be careful to use free images as some require you to pay for them.
